Mr. Know-It-All: Cut Quality.

Steps to assure a good cut quality include: 1. Check tire pressure. If the tire pressure is different from side to side, the cut will be uneven. Air pressure may also have a drastic effect on traction in dusty or wet conditions. See owner’s manual for recommended air pressure. 2. Belt Tension. This is outlined in your owner’s manual. This needs to be in the range specified for your mower. 3. Engine RPM. Make sure you are running at max throttle when cutting. 4. Level Deck. Leveling the deck is outlined in the owner’s manual as well. 5. Check blade sharpness (replace blades or sharpen at least once per year or when needed). 6. Monitor your speed. Mowing too fast could cause grass stems to be uncut. 7. Check underside of your deck and make sure it is clean.

To help extend the life of your mower, grease the grease fittings during oil changes. To find these grease fitting locations on your mower see your mower manual or go to www.badboylawnmowerparts.com to download a manual.

In the spring, don't use that old gas unless you properly used a fuel stabilizer, it can cause a number of problems. Better to use fresh gasoline to begin the new mowing season.

Mr. Know-It-All: Tire Pressure.

Check tire pressure. If the tire pressure is different from side to side, the cut will be uneven. Air pressure may also have a drastic affect on traction in dusty or wet conditions. See owner’s manual for recommended air pressure.

Mr. Know-It-All: Maintenance Schedule.

Maintenance schedules will vary by model. Consult your operator’s manual for more details or go to www.badboylawnmowerparts.com for more information.

Mr. Know-It-All: Longevity of Mower.

Maintenance, mowing conditions, temperature, and hours of operations play a huge role in the life of a mower. However, Bad Boy Mowers are without a doubt the strongest, most durable zero-turn mower available. With proper care, your Bad Boy will deliver many years of reliability, productivity, and comfort.

Mr. Know-It-All: Grass Height.

Don't remove any more than one third of the grass leaf at any one cutting. If circumstances arise that a lawn gets too tall and you just have to lop off a bunch to get caught up, bite the bullet and break it down into several mowing's to get caught up with 3 or so days between cuttings. NEVER SCALP YOUR LAWN. Scalping severely damages the root system to such a degree that it may die.
